wiki; BBB: “However, it has been shown using Magnetic Resonance Imaging that, when a person is undergoing an MS “attack,” the blood-brain barrier has broken down in a section of the brain or spinal cord, allowing white blood cells called T lymphocytes to cross over and destroy the myelin. It has been suggested that, rather than being a disease of the immune system, MS is a disease of the blood-brain barrier.[citation needed] However, current scientific evidence is inconclusive.

Doxycycline and Raptiva involve destruction of myelin; blood brain barrier. 2008 Medical journals speculated that MS, which Lyme is often misdiagosed as, is a disease of the blood brain barrier. That the severity of MS is in direct proportion to compromising of the BBB. Doxycycline and monocycline cross the BBB. Tetracyclines known since 1950′s to induce lupus; minocycline specifically is known to do this. Doxy causes brain swelling in children under eight; not prescribed them for that reason.

Point being, that pharmaceuticals can cause meningo-encephalomyelitis and fatal brain infections such as progressive mutifocal leukoencephalitis (Raptiva).

Through the Lyme disease CDC link, the NIH link negates “chronic Lyme disease”, and denies long term antibiotics are helpful for “PLDS” (Post-Lyme Disease Syndrome). Granted, “PLDS” may be antibiotic induced lupus (by crossing blood brain barrier–still experimental). However, the NIH link goes on at length about the harm of long term antibiotics for Lyme disease, but acne is treated long term with antibiotics yet it is not a debilitating disease. Why is that ignored?

BTW, why do people have to rate posts here to the point of removal? Can’t there be a civilized discussion, with differing opinions? Why are different viewpoints suppressed as they are on LymeNet chat? Who’s pushing an agenda here?

MS drug Tysabri is now reported to cause progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy–a fatal brain infection. It makes me wonder more and more if it isn’t the pharmaceuticals being prescribed that is making people sick. Including doxycycline, cefuroxime, etc. for Lyme disease. Amoxicillin is reported to be equally as effective as Doxy for Lyme disease. Why not use that? Doxy is far more severe in crossing/compromising Blood Brain Barrier. MS may be a disease of the BBB.

Generally, a tick bite from a tick carrying the bacteria. Some doctors believe it can be transmitted through semen, as well as through the placenta during pregnancy.

it’s an emerging infectious disease and because of establishment resistance is going to be another endemic pandemic. and Lyme disease is merely the disease with a reservoir large enough to get more notice; there are various other diseases where private profit is trumping medicine

The only problem with this film, is that it BARELY speaks about the fact that the Lyme bacteria CAN BE TRANSFERRED TO OTHERS VIA BODILY FLUIDS!!!
No it can not.

Ps. This FACT is why the number of people with chronic illnesses is growing at an astounding rate (and that’s just the patients who’ve been DIAGNOSED properly with Lyme)!!!

Lyme disease is often misdiagnosed as MS. So people could very well have been misdiagnosed and prescribed Tysabri for MS, only to develop the fatal brain infection of progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy. Just that easily.

Tysabri, used for MS, causes progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy, a rare and frequently fatal disease of the central nervous system. PML often results in irreversible neurological deterioration and death. Raptiva, psoriasis drug, has now received a black box by FDA for also causing PML. Be careful what we get diagnosed/prescribed.

People, “Chemtrails,” are killing the biological nutrients, supporting all plant life. What do you think that is doing to our immune systems, and that of bees? I have saved a sample of snow, from a storm in late December, that left my hair sticky and gluey feeling. I showered if out immediately. Does anyone know where I can get it tested? In need of one who is trustworthy.

The movie has brought much needed awareness, however, why don’t you post a list of petitions,a list of political representatives that we can contact. Put the links on your page; this will make it easier for those who barely have the energy to move. Please

I read a book years ago, called “Sugar Blues” by William Dufty. An absolute read. He states that during the Bubonic Plague, the rich who could afford sugars, were dropping like flies, the poor country folk who could not, faired well.

Google…..”Low Dose Naltrexone Homepage.” And also here on You tube…”Controlling Lyme Disease,” and see the LDN videos by “TropicalDawg” here as well. I have been using LDN, for just over a week now, and feel the need to pass the buzz. This is a drug that helps with the immune system, inflammation and endorphins. Eat as if you had a yeast problem, because Lyme loves what yeast loves. And no sugars of any kind…”Including Fruit!”

Leaks in the blood brain barrier, which normally prevents harmful molecules from passing from blood into the brain, have been implicated in inducing seizures and epilepsy. However, it is unclear what mechanisms might lead to rupture of the blood brain barrier.
Paolo Fabene, of the University of Verona in Italy, and his colleagues now show that leukocytes, cells of the immune system that defend the body from bacteria and virus, might be responsible.
