Hey guys….PLEASE register at the Oprah Winfrey website and let her know how much you would like to see her do a show on Lyme disease. Dr. Oz thinks the “UNDER OUR SKIN” documentary is wonderful but a show about Lyme won’t be done unless she sees lots of interest. Request that LLMDS and patients be the guests so that we can be heard. Also, Daryl Hall would make a great guest. WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER !

im gettin bit by ticks every fuckin day where i live now and its annoying and itchy as fuck, i killed one that got done sucking my blood and when i killed it, it exploded and i saw my own blood burst out from it which really creeped me out a bit

“PLEASE DON’T FEED THE TICKS”: I was a long distance hiker but contracted Lyme disease. ER doc diagnosed 2002 (tick bite/EM rash). Positive serology. ER doc confirmed diagnosis 2007. Wikipedia Lyme page emphasizes ‘no chronic Lyme’ yet describes disseminated Borrelia/late stage Lyme (?!).

It is good that you are trying to make people aware of the dangers of ticks however there were some common misunderstandings of the disease in your story. 1st ticks are out from when the ice melts to when the temp. drops back to freezing outside. Also the way to get a tick out is by putting the ticks body in a straw , wrapping thin thread around the straw and then sliding the thread down the straw until you have the ticks head tied with the thread. Then proceeding to pull the tick out.

Make sure you protect yourself from tick bites on your own property – get Damminix Tick tubes and spread them around according to the instructions. They are much safer then spraying, and ecologically sound. The website is http://www.ticktubes.com, but you can also get them at garden centers. Basically, they contain permethrin treated cotton, which mice use for nesting materials, thereby killing the ticks they carry, without harming themselves. I recommend them all the time, but they really work!
